Most migration problems are data problems. Plan for them early.
Clean data before you move it. Duplicate customers and inconsistent product codes are cheaper to fix in the source than in the new system.
Reconcile after every trial load: totals, balances and counts must match before anyone signs off.
Rehearse the cutover at least once, with timings, so go-live weekend is a repeat, not a first attempt.
